they are held on by 4 bolts, but there's a lot of stuff in the way.
You just have to pic your way past all these things, then there is the smog tube on the top of the pump,
then there is scraping of the gasket material off the block.
Then sealing the gaskets,
It might be wise to adhere the gasket to the pump. when you get the new pump, use some silicone sealer,
(not the blue stuff that smells like ammonia, it will eat the pump)
and adhere the gaskets to the pump, and when you are ready to use the pump, the gaskets will not fall off.
Just use black silicone to seal them to the pump and set the pump on a hard flat surface, gaskets down, for an hour, the gaskets will stay put,
then coaat the fresh side of the gaskets and install the pump
Then just put everything back as you found it.
Refill the engine with antifreeze and water, 50-50, and then
quickly, raise the idle standing by the radiator, and then fill the radiator with the idle increased
with the antifreeze mix, and when it's full, before you let go of the throttle, put the cap back on. Then let it warm up, shut it off,
Then when it's cool, add water to the reservoir to the full line.
get it hot a couple more times, and keep checking the reservoir, and add till the level does not move any more.
CHeck the level every operation every day for a week.
add as needed.
