difference between zf6 from truck?

difference between zf6 from truck?
Ive always wondered is the truck version of a zf6 trans the same except for the input shaft spline count? Or are they totally different transmiissions and just have the same designations?
Also why are people asking almost 2 grand for a zf6 out of 90s corvettes on ebay and then only like 500 for a t56... im just curious because a buddy has a 84 camaro and the 5 speed is on its way out and looking for alternatives converting to a 6 speed since he is running 3.45 gears in back. Makes for horrible gas mileage with the stock 5 speed...

6spd truck trans is S6-35 model , Vette trans is S6-40
Might have a problem with the shifter location
