Default stutters & won't pull

symptoms = idles fine in park but under load & wot it stutters and doesn't pull until about 3000 rpm. Fuel economy has dropped by half. no codes etc
fuel pressure @ 36-40 during idle and it holds after shutdown. going to replace the fuel filter tonight although I don't think it is a filter issue due to good pressure during idle. I suspect ignition bc of previous problems with spark plug wires.
any suggestions on what I should check would be appreciated

Check your cap and rotor. It could also be an injector problem. Start by eliminating the cap and rotor.

I always start with cap, rotor, plugs and wires.

I'll change those out also. I have a rotor laying around and then I'll check the plugs and wires...

Any way I can help? Did you ohm out the injectors?

I would also check out the TPS too. Did you ever get datamaster to read/operate correctly?

This would show you if theres a flat/broken range for the tps.

Let me know if I can help.

Mike I'd appreciate any help you could offer. I haven't been able to get my laptop to datalog.
I recently ohmed out the injectors cold they were all 16.4 and hot they were #1=17.2 , #2 thru # 6=16.9 #7=17.1 #8 17.3.. I'll recheck them and the TPS when I get home tonight. If fuel related I just don't understand why fuel economy has suffered so much.

Let me know what I need to bring, as I do not know what you have available at your place.

Thanks,

Mike

I replaced the fuel filter, fp,sock, rotor & gapped the plugs. Plugs #4&6 appeared hot. Run much better now. Seems to hang in 2nd gear way to long but friend recommended I changed tranny fluid. Couldn't check exhaust because I can't get a gauge on the o2 sensor or air pipes ( I don't have the right fittings). I am still concerned about the drop in fuel economy.

Mike it's running better now but I'd appreciate if you could help me check the timing & data log to see what's going on. I don't have a timing light

I took it out to Mike/Deepa and he checked the timing. It was way off 0 instead of 6. We set it to 8 and wow what a difference. drives better and MPG is way better. Thanks for the assist Mike
