Fan will come on if you ground the relay with the ignition turned to on (engine does not need to be running).
Exactly, but I do have to keep the ignition switch "on" even without the motor running. If the ignition switch is turned to "off" then there is no power at the relay. Now if I do turn the ignition switch to on, "engine not running" how quickly will the battery run down? That is how I have it wired at the moment, and im going to the track tomarrow and I sure would hate to have to get a boost while waiting in line. :cry
Im going to throw in a pair of jumper cables just in case, but I dont think it will be a problem if the amp draw is only .5 amps. The problem is, with a conv. , 1 helmet, jumper cables, wife, and 2 12oz cokes is a full load!! :jester
Just run a pair of wires trough the firewall to a mini rocker switch in the cup holder it works great for me, you can switch at the track easily. It worked for me tonight. :D use nothing but a ground ground from the post in front of the battery to the switch to the fan turn on!!!
