Ok, Will a C4 safely pull a small boat trailer
I'm looking at buying a Bombardier Sport Boat (Glorified Ski Doo). Total weight is 1235 lbs. Will my sub frame and suspension survive short trips around town to the boat launch and back? My trailer hitch is rated to 2000lbs, but the frame I'm worried about. See sig for car details.

I used to pull a jet ski with my '89, no problems at all. Well, that's not entirely true, the trailer tended to come off the ground at about 100 :D
I even pulled a popup camper with it once. That thing weighed 2500, you couldn't see the vette in front of it it was so big. I think you'll be fine with weight your talking about for short distances (even longer distances), and the rig will look :cool: :cool:

It just sounds wrong in principle. Vettes shoud be the "traileree" not the "trailerer". Mr. Duntov is probably rolling in his grave.
Just be real carefull in tight turns as the Vette is so light the load could push the backend around in a turn.

I once seen a 96 GS pulling a little custom trailer (like a storage thingy) that was shaped like a Corvette fender, had the GS paint scheme, and even had GS wheels. I must say, that thing was the coolest thing I've ever seen! (Musta cost $$$)

My only concern would be pulling the boat out of a wet ramp. It wouldn't be a bad idea to put some sand or salt in the back of the car so you could put it under the rear wheels.

I thought about using my car to pull my 120 lb Sunfish sailboat since its much better to drive to oklahoma in the vette than moms explorer but the thought of it made me decide not to. :eek:

Check the owners manual. It should give towing capacity.
Its nice to see someone use their vette as a CAR instead an object of worship or hammered on at the dragstrip.

I, too, have considered putting a hitch on the vette. I am currently entertaining the idea of the 11/4" from these folks. http://www.hitch-web.com

your not going to back her into any salt water i hope... towig is not as bad as untrailering a boat.. the car should be fin.. especially a manual.. make sure your tranny has some frssh fluid and a new filter and is in good shape and stay out of overdrive.. hould be fine other then that.. just a matter of keeping the trans cool and clean1
