I need to replace the driver side Window Regulator motor. It looks like to me the Window Regulator motor is riveted to the window mechanism? Does this mean the Window Regulator motor would have to have the rivets drilled out to remove the Window Regulator motor. I could be wrong casue its hard to see in there. Any help is welcome thanks
When I had window problems with the prior '88 Vette I simply replaced the regulator assy, with motor attached.
On my '88 IORC-Z I elected to just replace the motors, which were indeed rivited onto the regulator. I had to drill out the rivits and replace with bolts.
Since the regulator is under spring tension, it was necessary to "stake" the regulator so that it did not move once the motor was removed. This was done by drilling a hole through the regulator arms and installing a temporary bolt.
