Car was running, I had a sputter and pushed the gas more because it has done it a little before. This time it was violent and the car died. The car was in gear so the engine was still turning, I added gas and nothing happen, then I took it out of gear and it died.
When I tried to restart, I hear the fuel pump come on and the car try's to start as in it will fire but it won't run for more than a millisecond.
It has fuel, opti is only 2-3000 miles old. Spark plugs and wires and in good shape. Fuel filter is on 2-3000 miles old.
I'm going to pull the codes later. I was noticing before that somehow the coil wire was have a spark jump to the coolant hose? Does that sounds possible. I pulled the wire off and tried to clean the connection. I have no tools with me and don't really know what I can do with my screw driver and paper clip.
What wire did you pull off, the coil wire at the coil?
Try to determine if you have spark. Have someone crank it and see if you can get a plug wire to spark to ground. Get a coat hanger so you can inset it in the plug wire cup and then hold it near ground. Hold it somehow so you don’t get zapped. You can also try that off the coil and see if the coil is putting something out. Also check the other end of the coil wire where it goes into the opti near the top of the water pump.
Determine if there is fuel pressure is much harder. If the pump is running you can only assume there is pressure. If you depress the Schrader valve for the fuel fitting and it only drips, there is no pressure. If it squirts like hell, then there may be pressure but it would be hard to tell how much.

Sure that's possible. The coil wire could have a cut, a pin hole, anything like that can cause spark to jump. I once had a coil wire with a pin hole in the connection at the opti. After awhile I could hear and see it spark on the water pump housing. I let it slide until the upper rad hose busted on me. I thought the opti was toast. But I had a thought that the dexcool might have messed up that connection, so I put dielectric grease on it, and she started right up. Try a new coil wire before spending a bunch of money.
Try the Fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum line off and see if it is wet with fuel. If it is this also is your problem. Been there done that with this too.
