Clutch help please.
What are your recommendation for a cruiser/daily driver car. Her birthday is 03/22/95, if that makes a difference in part fitment.
Please post the part numbers if you have them.
I am not worried about soft pedal, I just want a good clutch that will last another 111k miles.
Thanks in advance.

If it's your just a soft pedal, that is an entirely different set of circumstances.
First check the hydraulic fluid level in the resevior located on the driver side under the ECM and over the battery. Remove the ecm by unscrewing the 2, 7mm bolts, slide it out and move out of way. You will see the resevior. If it's low, you may have a leak, either in the line or more likely the slave cylinder. If you have the original slave cylinder at 111K, you are one of the lucky ones.
If it's full, then your clutch master may be going out. Or it could be a worn clutch fork and/or fork ball stud. This requires removing the trans and bell housing to check. If this is the original clutch (doubtful) it needs replaced anyway I'd bet.
1) gut yourself under the dash and check to see if you can see any fluid where the clutch pedal rod goes through the firewall. Pull the rubber boot off the end of the master cylinder. If you have fluid there...the master is leaking....replace.
2) Get under the car and look for leaks around the slave cylinder. Unbolt the slave and lift up the boot where the rod is. If fluid is present, you found the leak. Replace the slave.
Now if the problem is the clutch is beginning to slip...then you get to remove the driveshaft, transmission, bell housing, clutch...and hope the dual mass flywheel is good. If it is leaking...then you might find a used one...good luck on that....or you get to do lots of reading to determine which of the single mass flywheel and new clutch sets you want.
For a daily curiser...in my opinion...a lightweight setup is not the way to go. You would want the heavy steel flywheel and clutch set. But this will be up to you to decide.
Oh and replacing the clutch takes quite a bit of time. That ZF trans is one heavy sucker. Be sure to have a trans jack that has a belt to go around it to hold it onto the jack.
Then there are the four bolts on the member between trans and diff...lots of fun getting to those.
And then there is the......and the......, and also the......
You get the picture.
Good luck.
I'm wanting some recommendation on good clutch kit for this car, I have been out of a C4 since 2002.
