More quick tech help! Waterpump drive
OK, so after my opti replacement my buddy recruits me to work on his car, replacing the waterpump seal in the timing cover. Got it apart and this driveshaft has movement side to side, up and down, etc. Should this shaft be tight or is play ok?

When I put the new timing set on mine that sucker doesn't go anywhere but round and round. no left/right or up/down play
