What's wrong with putting 87 octane in an LT1?

I've data logged my 93 on a hot 90+ degree day with 93 octane NO timing got pulled ever. Good enough for me.

Its a high performance engine why feed it low performance fuel?

That would be like Micheal Phelps eating dunkin donuts all the time and then trying to win an Olympic gold.

If you need to question a few dollars per fill up, you need to question why you own a Corvette. Remember a Late LT1 C4 was a 40K car new!!!

On my '94 LT1, the fuel filler panel says "Premium Unleaded Fuel RECOMMENDED"...my '96 LT4 says "Premium Unleaded Fuel ONLY". Sounds to me like the factory made a small allowance for the LT1...YMMV.
