Default Blinker problems on my '91...

My blinker recently went out and its due for inspection. Haven't looked into it yet so it might be something really easy but here are the symptoms... when I go to indicate a turn the yellow turn signal on the front bumper illuminates but does not flash on and off. It just stay on until after the turn is complete. The brake lights do not flash either. Could this just be a wiring problem or what?

Dead bulb. $5, 5 minutes, and a torx away from being fixed.

sound's like your turn signal controler (blinker). go to your local auto part's store and pick one up (about $5-$10) they are a small metal plug in modual that is a cuircut bracker. sound's like your's is stuck in the on position. try your flasher's, they should work as they are controiled by a different controller, useally located next to the turn signal controller. leave your flashers on when you replace your turn sig. controller as this will help you find the controller (follow the sound) cause your dash is pacted tight with all kind's of electronic's,wire's and stuff! :D :D :D happy hunting.

only one direction or both directions does it not flash?

if Both it is more then likely the Turn signal flasher

if only one side, it is probably a bad bulb

It is on both sides. The hazard lights work, brake lights work etc. It is just the turn signal lights in the front/back and on the signal indicators above the speedometer. Where is the turn signal flasher/controller located?

Since neither side works I'd service the flasher.

It's in the IP, either behind the radio or under the right hish panel. Look for the little silver "top hat".

Sounds like the turn signal flasher.. there is one for the turn signals and a separate on for the Hazards

Thanks for all the help. I bought the $2.15 turn flasher at the local auto parts store and just plugged it in. It works great. In case any of you were curious on the '91 its on the drivers side kind of where the fuse box would be if it were moved from the passengers side to the drivers side.

Since we're on the subject, does anyone know why one side would blink slower than the other? The right side blinks normally but the left side blinks about half as fast?
