replacing drivers side seatbelt..mine wont retract or extend. Got the upper ( by your head) torx bolt out.was tight, but no problem. Went down to the mounting bracket by the seat...me thinks I have stripped the torx slots.grrr, how hard is the bolt..I might have to drill the darn thing out. grrrrrrrrrrr. 1986.
If you did strip the head out of it, perhaps you could tack weld a hex nut onto the head and try again. Might be easier than drilling it out. Just a thought.
Guys, its a flat, round head with torx slot in the middle. It also has tourged to about the same has head bolts..its no easy twist out starting. They really tighten those bolts.

MMMMMMmmmmmmm, a flat round head. That I gotta see. There was a thread recently about testing WD 40 kinda stuff. A 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF was by far the best. Might be worth a try before you begin drilling or welding.
I stripped mine. I used ended up drilling it out because it was torqued in there. I replaced all of the torx with high strength bolts. Im not a fan of torx bolts.

I have a small bottle of some stuff my auto parts guy gave me that he says is really great at loosening stuck threads. He gave it to me for free as it evaporates (even in a sealed bottle) too fast and does not have a very long shelf life. I had asked him why the bottle was only 1/3 full and he gave me that explanation.
Shoot me a PM with your mailing address and I will mail it to you. Freebie.
Maybe that stuff and an E Z Out will do the job.
i use PB BLASTER. works much better than WD-40. smack the head of the bolt a few times with a hammer . apply pb blaster or ? then take a die grinder or a dremel tool and put a slot in the head of the bolt. place screwdriver in slot with a cresent wrench on flat spot of screwdriver blade or you can use vise grips and have a friend wrap on the screwdriver while you put turning pressure on it. or drill it and use a spiral style easy out.
