Every time i take the car out for a ride the rear carpet falls down where it meets the privacy screen. Are there screws under the plastic moulding that are supposed to keep this thing from falling or am i just going to have to use double sided tape. Didnt want to pull the plastic off if it isnt going to help. thanks.
hi,you should have 2 or 3 large plastic clips that hold the carpet in.go to your local chevy dealer and they should have them in stock.good luck,greg84
I had this problem, carpet riped out from the screws and it has shrunk, so no way to reattach using same screws. I tried double sided tape, didn't work. Get some 3M spray adhesive at the auto-parts store, spray on back panel and underside of carpet (sprays out like lace, or a web) and this should do it.
Oh yea, don't let 2 girls ride in the back that you met in a bar, it could cause the problem again. :reddevil :smash:
Actually there are 4 of them and they are metal. I'm replacing the carpet in my '93 right now. The new(used) carpet was torn at the holes, but I put the clips on tight enough where the carpet won't even move.
Could these elusive clips still be in the car? under the plastic panel?
Car is a 93 by the way

If you pull the plastic trim panel that covers the hatch latch, you should see some foam. under the foam is where the studs are located. The clips that mount on there are round with a star pattern in the middle. If the carpet has pulled out and nobody else has messed with it, they should still be there.
If it wasn't raining out, I would take a pic for you.
