cam choice
I need a cam with will give a littel more "oomph" and work better with the Fast Burn heads than the stock L-98 cam, BUT I'm in Kalifornia, so I need something with a good/pretty smooth idle that will pass smog.
I'm going to do a 2200-2400 converter and have 3.07 gears. I may auto-x it once a year or so, but realisitically, I drive it 20K miles a year, and I want smooth and flexible more than I want race car.
I'm looking at the ZZ4 cam since I can't find a good LT-4 cam for a reasonable price. TPIS has a small cam but it's only .420 lift and the ZZ-9 cam looks bigger than I want.
Anyone who's run a ZZ4 cam in a similar setup (and especially if you passed CA smog with it), please chime in.
Thanks,
Marc
ZZ9 would be a safe bet on smog and work well, idle nice too.
Those heads have real good airspeed so you can run a not big cam with them and they will work great with it.
