New Wipers bounce across windshield...

New Wipers bounce across windshield...
Car: 1990
I received new wiper arms and blades....so basically the entire assembly.....
Installed and I still have some problems...the wipers seem a bit better, but I still every now and then have the problem that they go further out then normal and hit the pillars.
Also more noticeably....they donÕt run smoothly across the windshield...they bounce....
any help would be great....

You need '96 wipers. The earlier wiper arms and blades hit each other occasionally and had problems. In mid '95 they fixed this. Get '96 replacement part to make sure you get the correct ones. I got mine from Jeff Kopp for something like $40. Very happy with them.

You need '96 wipers. The earlier wiper arms and blades hit each other occasionally and had problems. In mid '95 they fixed this. Get '96 replacement part to make sure you get the correct ones. I got mine from Jeff Kopp for something like $40. Very happy with them.

Do you have anything on your windshield like waxes or anything? Mine went right on and worked better than most new cars the first time in the rain. Did you get the arms and blades or just blades? You need both. I had no problems with mine which I got last summer. You may want to get something to scrub the windshield clean. They used Bartenter's friend polish on one of those TNN car shows and said it cleaned the window without scratching. You might also want to try dish soap as it will eat through wax, etc. and make sure the glass is clean. Hope this does the trick.

BTW, you are using them when its raining or with the washer spray and not when the windshield is dry? Needs the water to lubricate the window.
