Ncrs
The degree of difficulty depends upon how original your car is to start with and how much money you want to throw at it to get the car back to a 94% original condition.
If you think your car might be a good candidate and you think you might be interested in the NCRS judging process, you should purchase the NCRS judging guide for your MY Vette (approx $40) and judge the car yourself using the NCRS judging sheets (free online). Then you will have a pretty good idea of what it will take to Top Flight your car.
If you have the original engine, tranny, glass and tires and your paint is the original color, you are in pretty good shape. If you don't have the original engine, don't even think about NCRS Top Flight as you will lose 350 points just on the engine alone. You are allowed a loss of no more than 270 points to be considered a Top Flight car.
Even if you think you REALLY know your car and are a pretty knowledgeable Corvette person, you will be amazed at how much you will learn about your car from the good folks at NCRS. They really know their stuff. AND, it’s a fun process to restore your Corvette. If you like to work on cars and can do most of the wrenching yourself, it’s not particularly expensive, that is, if you have a pretty good car to start with.
FWIW,
P.
