You'll get lots of answers all over the spectrum.

IMO Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals have been the best in terms of price/quality, quiet, and grip.

YMMV

Whats your price range?
What size wheels?
Need M+S?
Sticky for the track and good in the wet?

I have goodyears on it now it is the stock size tire. I was looking at the FireStone. as their are about 150 a tire vs 330 to put the same GY tires back on. I dont drive in snow so that is not a issue. I might go back with the GoodYear Eagle F1 GS.

, to a point. My '96 came with the Firestones mounted, they've got over 30K miles on them and look to have another 10-12K in them...all highway miles, I don't track or race the car.

The only real complaint (if you can call it that) I have is if the temp is about 40 degrees or below, the tires ride like rocks until they get some heat built up in them, then they're OK. They are sold as high-performance summer tires not to be used in winter...yeah, OK. We don't get that much winter in Mississippi so I'm cool.

BTW, these tires also throw up the wildest looking rooster tail in the rain, the tread pattern I guess.

Take a good look at the BF Goodrich...
I had those and was amazed at how well they did everything...great wear, very good traction wet & dry and they were quiet too...
the price was better than 75% of other easily available brands. BFG is easy to find and just about any store can sell them. The Goodyrs are way over priced IMO...

BTW...if someone at the store tries to sell you some Yokohomos, RUN and don;t look back. Worst Vette tire I ever ran...loudest too. Wore out extremely fast, louder than a jacked up Ford F-250 with mud tires.. Those Yoko-nono's didn't sing on the freeway...they HOWLED !

Another vote for the BFG tires. I put a set of BFG G-Force Sport tires on my '90 and it transformed the car. The original Goodyears were crap in comparison. Discount tire is where I got the best deal, $816 including the 4 tire warranties. Great price for a great summer tire.

My 95 has a set of Nitto 555 that now have only five thousand miles on them and they feel real good to me. I like to get om her every now and then and they feel super consistant. Great in rain and I would say o.k. for road noise. It is a vette not a Cadi. They were 700 for complete set with everything including nitrogen.
