targa top adjustment
Ok, bought the top windshield plastic and mounts/sun visors,ect. off a parted out 90 that I had purchased the Targa top off of a few months ago. Time to install..Have most of the assy at least hung, want to get adjustment correct first time around. Water leaks are for what I do in the bathroom, not in my Vette.
Thanks in advance..OH, getting those Torx screws in and started, can be a strain on decent vocabulary. forgot,, mine is an 86. So, advice on the top install and adjustment?

Its pretty straight forward, remove sunvisor's the plastic header panel to access the front mounts.
Best way i found is tighten the rear bolts so the targa top is aligned then loosely fit the brackets and screw targa bolts on, if you have a friend to push it down around 1/8 of an inch to depress the weatherstrips while you tighten the brackets to the header trim.
Remove the targa and see how well it fits, the front brackets may need to be moved slightly. Put the plastic header trim and sunvisor's on only once you have the roof fitment just right and have hosed water on the roof and side windows to confirm the weatherstrips are making good contact with the glass etc. Believe me it takes a bit of fine tuning to get the alignment just right.
When all fits and it is water proof then you can double check the bracket bolts are securely tightened then fit the plastic header trim , mirror and sunvisor's.
