My 85 vett won't start. After sitting for a week, I tried starting it and first the battery was stone dead, I jump it from my chevy express V8 and still wouldn't turn but just clicked ...Any ideas why all of a sudden car is acting this way full tank of gas, and plenty of air in the tires!smash:

could be poor connection with cables. clean battery terminals. if u have volt meter check battery
Assuming that you are using a good set of booster cables and your booster cable connections are good, I would be tracing the connection to the starter solenoid and starter ground and then test your starter.

Sounds like a starter solenoid problem to me. I have been under the car removing my starter today to put a new one in.
I had problems at odd times especially when the car was hot mostly and would not crank not even a click, tap the starter and she will fire right up got worse over the last few months.
I pulled the solenoid apart and found that to be the problem, the disc inside that gets pulled to make contact with the battery wire terminal to starter terminal worn with the terminals worn also is a cheap part unless you consider airfreight to Australia
Lucky they have plenty of new chevy starters here cheaper than a new solenoid landed
Putting a brand new starter in tomorrow after work
