So i have a 1990 corvette and its in desperate need of shocks! When I bought her she handled like a dream, i had confidence taking corners and it was solid no matter what, lately it has became "bouncy" and well im not confident in it anymore it feels well..loose.
It has the original shocks(bilstiens)on it! Which now have 94,000 on them too so im 98% sure that is my problem with the sponginess of the car. It used to be flat in corners and it leans pretty bad now.. The steering is less responsive now too.
Anyone know of any decent brand shocks that wont destroy my bank account? I have KYBs on my camaro and really like them. They are about 25 years old and are still stiff but then again it only has about 20,000 on those shocks.
Would KYBs work on here? Or some other brand that arent 100 dollars a piece? I just cant afford them right now.
Thanks
If youre looking for budget hard to beat KYBs they will never go bad.
Run them on everything for many yrs with no complaints.
They really firm things up...if you have really stiff spring though it may be bordeline overkill/stiff.

cool that is exactly what i was hoping to hear!
Everything on the car is stock, its just very spongy now which makes it NO fun to drive because it bounces all over the place
I was looking on summit and i cant seem to find the passenger side rear, is there something special about it? I found the front and it tells me driver side rear but nothing about the passenger side rear? Aren't they the same?

I put KYB's on while I redid the bushings on my 85. Very solid and I've trusted them on my bimmer and my dodge so I expect the same. Great quality for the money, but I feel like they raised the car slightly.
