I am getting the 41755BIE SCAT stroker balanced assembly. Does anyone know if a cc306 will fit on a regular base circle.. Rotating assembly comes with their ProComp forged I Beam rods..which are suposed to be profiled for strokers. And also how good are the stock exhaust manifolds? Are headers really needed..thanks.

Ok..I will get headers and will put an x pipe in place of resonator...but does anyone know if a non small base circle 306 cam will clear the scat I beams by chance?...
I have done alot of 383's and you can use a off the shelf cam no major problems with cam to rod intereferance. Worst case on a non stroker design, you might have to touch up the rods slightly (light clearancing). I have done 383's with stock rods and it is a matter of slightly rounding off the shoulder of the rod bolts to clear. I have done 383's with 7/16 Scat rods, and they required more clearancing than alot of the others out there, but it still wasn't a real big deal. You aren't taking hardly anything off to make them clear, so rod strength is not affected.
Ok thanks...I was hoping its not too much...this is my 1st stroker build. I went the other way last winter building the 302.. engine runs mid 13's @102 spinning in 1st...but I want more! Gonna give the kid the 302 for his camaro.
I would also set the oil pan on without a gasket and turn it over. It's pretty common to have to ding the pan so it also clears. Then with the thickness of the gasket, you will have good clearance.
