Ok Guys, My low miles 86 is leaking coolant between the intake and the head. Right rear corner of the intake. 19K No mods. No oil in coolant . No coolant in the oil. Aluminum heads. Never overheats . Temps run right they should. It is just an annoying leak. at this point. Tell me please, Could it be just leaking gaskets. A bad head? Even the Block? I will have to work on the car for a code 32 next month. Maybe just re-tourqe everything?

This is a common problem (gasket)and if you don't fix it you are in for a blown head gasket or worse. Its not a hard or expensive job.If your intake is too pitted when you take it off it should be repaired. GL
Thank you chaos, So... intake Gaskets? Will check for pitting on mateing surfaces. I saw the video replacing injectors. Where can I get that skinny torx wrench. Many thanks to everyone.
If I understand correctly the intake gasket is leaking and not the head gasket. A picture would be helpful. At any rate if you've never changed your head gaskets then
since the intakes coming off why not do the head gaskets too. Just a thought.

At 20K and no overheating I would just do the Intake gasket. The head gasket is a lot more work.
at that low miles, I'd be looking for some other source of the leak...thats just too low to be the typical intake gasket leak. Rt rear...could be the steam pipe? if equipped that yr?
Thats sure ashame to have to tear into a virgin motor @ 20K...
Last time I did swapped out my intake for the edelbrock I remember the gasket came in pieces and you actually need to apply silicone on it in spots too. If you think that tightening the bolts will solve the problem good luck. Are those original bolts too? possibly rusted out inside so be careful. Don't strip the plenum either, it's easy to do. Good luck.
