Stop before you do anything else. The first thing to learn is that the grounds are the lifeblood of the Corvette. Dirty grounds will cause the ECM to go crazy. Since the car sat outside for years it was exposed to rain and moisture that will corrode the ground points for the engine.
I can not figure out how to insert a picture of the ground locations under the hood. Perhaps someone else could do that. The critical ones are on the frame rails on both sides of the engine the front of the engine and the bell housing has a stud with 3 or 4 wires on it on the drivers side of the car.

Default door ajar switches

This symptom can be indicative of a door ajar switches problem.

Either the door swithes 'nose' piece is pushed in too far and is not pushing in when the door is closed (fix is to add 1-2 small rubber o-rings), or,

water has gotten into the switch to prevent it from openning the circuit when pushed in.

The switch closed the circuit when popped-out as door is opened, and opens the circuit when the door is closed and switch is pushed-in. However, its 'circuit' state is then read by the CCM and the CCCM micro-processor makes decisions based upon it -- which explains why sometimes wierd things happen if the door switches fail.

p.s. only lube switch plunger with vaseline, other chemicals will swell plastic -- also, door switches can be replaced through their hole without needing to diss-assemble the door.

I found a door switch in between the hinges on the A pillar. They seem ok, but i am not even sure if that is the switch you are refering to. Also, before I removed the fuse to stop the beeping the lights stayed on while driving. It pretty much seems like it could be that clip you guys are saying. Do you know how costly of a repair this is. Thank you guys for the replies. Im glad I joined this forum. Its a good feeling that people are willing to help.
