Did you mean this the other way around? Modded cars "need" more cooling than stock.

No, I meant what I said, BUT, I am speaking of my own car, it is modded but not to the extent of some on here. Real heavily modded cars running at the track would definitely benefit from a two row. I should have been clearer.

So, if (at least some level of) modded cars can cut it on the stock radiator, it shows the stock unit is more than enough for the OEM config. And, your's is more than an intake --OR-- headers. You've got both AND a cam, right?

That is correct a mild cam though w/ 11:1 compression and I am serious when I say it rarely sees 200 degrees. If I am stuck in real heavy traffic it may see 210-220 at the very most. My main fan comes on at 185 though.

Compression is a big factor too....
True, but I feel overbore is an even bigger factor due to thinner cylinder walls. Mine is only 30 over.

Do any of you guys with a manual ,use the trans cooler in the radiator for the power steering ? Will that raise the water temp much ?

This single wide tube design beats the multiple three row cores because of the dead space between the tubes. Stay tuned
Question. I presume even with better cooling it would still require air-flow, so would it be a correct assumption that without also changing the control of the fans the improved cooling would not be realized and the car would continue to heat-up while sitting at lights?

e.g. 96's coolant fans - both would run at slow speed at 125-8 degrees F based on coolant temperature, so no air flow would occur without AC turned on or until coolant temp reaches 125 +/-

to Tom: Sounds great and if only it was available when I just did my stock EOM (delphi) radiator (with tranny cooler, even though I have a zf manual) I would have seriously considered it instead.

to Bigfoote: my new stock radiator with tranny cooler works well here in NJ, but only while moving, sitting at a light it can still creep up to 128 (94's set-point) until primary fan comes on and then comes down quickly to 118 while sitting still, or to 194-7 within a mile of resumed driving).
