How fast are your pistons?
Then again there aren't very many 400's in the beginning when you compare it to some 60 million other small block chevys in existence.
I just get little funny when people put so much importance on rod length and spend the money for something that is really insignificant for 95% of us, including me:)
I've built 400's with short rods...they do fine. Even some guy named Joe Sherman preached short rods and their reduced cost...hardly any power difference between two identically prepared 400's-one short and one long...and these where in the 570 hp range motors.
Just saying that .135 isn't much difference between it and a 350 rod (5.7).
Again I welcome the calculated info.
