Well its pretty much done , with the exception of the stereo face area, and the back carpet. I ordered a piece to match for now, but I'm really considering doing it in black later, along with the floors up front. Then when I do the seats, they will be black in the centers too. Your basic tuxedo look. Comments??
As far as the stereo goes. I somehow fried the factory dodge cd player I had. Really odd, when I hooked it up to the amp, I lost both R and L rear channels. Oh well I hated that stereo. So my next question was single, or double din. Well I dont like the look of the single in the 1.5 din area, so double it is. http://www.ebay.com/itm/JVC-KW-AV60-...675474&vxp=mtr So with unit in hand, I did a bit of cutting, (About 1/8in top and bottom) then glued the trim ring that came with the new stereo to the back side of the factory bezel. After it dried, I began filling the gaps and low spots, and now it fits perfect. I will be covering all the plastic pieces with black satin vinyl wrap, which is what Im waiting on to finish.
Lastly, I began this project, because of how loud the drone was inside the car. After doing all this work, it has reduced the road noise majorly. But the exhaust was only slightly quieter, and the moan was still at that annoying pitch. So I was thinking about it the other evening, and came to the conclusion that the gas tank area on these cars, work like a giant speaker box, and the only way to fix it was to seal it off somehow. So I decided to fill area between the gas tank, and the back interior wall with "Fire Block" spray foam. And we have success! Drone is completely gone! Still can hear the growl from the exhaust but no drone. I am gonna cut the access foam off so its flat, and cover it in "Lizard Skin", so its not so noticeable.
Well thats about it. Last update will be pics of the finished job. But here's where we are at now. Peace everybody! h
