Default EASE problems with parameter files

I have EASE and am having difficulty with getting the traces to properly recognize the parameter files. I created a customer parameter file under my login to trace only the sensor data needed for a custom chip burn. I login select the parameter file, hit hide parameters, and setup the screen in dual columns and everything traces ok. but when I pull up the traces, I still see the factory default parameters (all sensors). WTF!!!!

I have also tried "reselecting" the user parameter file right after recording as the EASE for some reason jumps back to the factory parameter file.

what am I doing wrong??? very frustrating... :mad

Are you recrding the traces and then revisiting them after the run? If so, I believe that Ease still RECORDs all the data.. when you set the user traces as you did, it will only SHOW those on the screen but still RECORD all.

this make sense?

that's exactly what is happening. isn't there a way to ONLY record the data from the parameters to speed it up?? or should I just only select the ones I want in the export utility??? I'm confused. trying to send a trace off to JR. he was I thought mentioning there was a way to ONLY record the data for the parameter file. if not, I will just select the needed ones and export to excel I might be thinking EASE can do something that isn't possible?!?!?!

when I login during playback and select the the trace it does to just show the data for the selected parameters just like the recording.

thanks so much!!! that makes sense. :mad

Call Ease and ask them..

I don't know of a way to do what you want. I usually export what I need to exel anyway for further tuning.

It looks like this is an EASE bug. I spoke to JR about this and it looks like EASE records ALL the data stream and the parameters file is just a "view filter". kinda makes sense as real time filtering of the data stream would probably take more processing and slow it down more than just recording the entire data stream. I will contact EASE and let them know about it.

anyone else using EASE. I have ZR1s, anything out there better for doing ECM data traces???

the number has changed.

Susan is at 703-737-3390 here in Sunny Leesburg VA!!!

she confirmed my thinking, the OBD I version of EASE records ALL data in the ECM stream regardless of the parameter file used. the parameter file is really only needed to "filter" the playback so you can see what you are most interested in.

FYI, there is an error in the ZR1/LT5 data that reports the INJ PW in error on one side, the correction factor is 3.33 X what is reported on the low one.

there is also a patch to correct the timing. the other thing I noticed is a NEGATIVE oil temp. hmmm....

susan is great. make sure you register EASE before you call her so she has you on file.

thanks for the tips Dan!!!!
