ALL IS GOOD IN THE WORLD!! Everyone here is correct, an aftermarket car alarm was installed on the car. Got in touch with the P.O. and he knew all about it, but forgot to tell me at the time of sale. So, after charging battery for a full 24 hours and making sure cables were clean and installed tightly, I depressed the hidden valet/interrupt/disable or whatever switch it is while turning key to crank. After the usual half revolution, engine fired right off and ran like a top!! Drove it for about 30 minutes to get coolant and oil temps above the 200 degree mark and head banged to my favorite C.D. while driving. Shake me by Cinderella, One by Metallica, and my all time favorite Wild Side by Motley Crue. I know this reply is long, but man am I happy everything is good now. Hats off to all for the tips, info, and advice.
