My check engine light came on. The scanner says its a P430 - System low efficiency bank 2. The manual says basically the passenge side cat not doing its thing up to par. I wonder if its related to me recently installing a low restriction exhaust system (Side Effects). I really don't want to replace it unless I really have to. There will be busted bolts and knuckles for sure. There are seperate trouble codes for the 02 sensors so its not supposed to be one of those.
Any ideas would be apppreciated. Thanks.

It is the OBD2 system, basically, it measures the amount of O2 in each exhaust manifold, then it compares the level of O2 after the catalytic converter. It expects to read a different level, and if not, it throws an error code for loss of efficiency. Basically, you will have to replace the 'after' sensor with the 'fake' sensor that is sold specifically for that purpose, or disable that error code in the programming of your PCM.

Re: ANYONE EVER GET A P430 ? (crewzenLT4)
Another thing to check is the rear O2 sensor connector...
The dealer did some work on my car and broke the sensor plug... It made intermittent contact and set off the code for low cat efficiency... They replaced the cat (GM ate that) and I still had the code... I checked under the car and found the broken harness... I replaced the O2 sensor with another one that I already had and no problems since...
