All I can say is HOLY poopie there was a lot of grass and stuff in my radiators!
I spent about 2 hours with the air compressor and hose getting all kinds of stuff out of them. The A/C radiator had the most grass and small dirt, but the coolant radiator had a ton of bigger dirt and crap. My compressor sure got a workout today. I also took a tinny flathead screw driver and striaghtened fins out until my hand hurt.
Thank you to R94Lt1 for helping me out since i have a busted shoulder!
Here are the pictures:
simply amazing that any air was getting through at all!:eek:
WTF is this?!?!?! It was sitting under the radiators
I assume since you you didn't give results, that you have not finished and tested. I'm watching to see what happens since mine is acting similar here in the DFW weather.
I went through a car wash and stuck the high pressure hose to it through the access holes a couple days ago. It did seem to cool it off a couple degrees, (224 max with AC on yesterday) so I think that a thorough cleaning like you have done will be a great improvement.
You took a high pressure car wash hose to the radiator????

I knew someone who did that and bent most of the fins shut. He did such a good job that he ruptured one of the tubes. To make a long story short, he flushed the inside of his radiator too.
:yesnod:
Be careful with any high pressure around the raidator or A/C condensor.

Re: Radiator Cleaning [part2] (Glock'94)
I just got done doing mine about three weeks ago, and I have noticed a very improved difference.... running the AC in traffic and the car never gets above 215..... running down the interstate it usually hangs right around 198 - 205..... That is with a 195 degree thermostat......

That's way too hot with the A/C on... My 96 runs at 190F even in the AZ summer 115F temps...
I do have a HPP+ that I used for the cooler fan settings but that shouldn't matter much since the A/C controls the fans for the most part when the A/C is on... I've never seen my 96 run that hot with the A/C on...
