Default Bleeding clutch system

So I just replaced my master slave and the other thing ( its late guys) and I have questions about bleeding the system.

I know the book says to have the bleeder screw angled to the top and have it at a 45 degree angle. But is having the clear tube on the bleeder screw a real need?

Should every pump of the clutch push out a steady flow of fluid? Some pumps I get a good flow, some I dont. I would say I had my wife push the clutch in about 20 times. I have good pressure most of the way to the floor, just the beginning feels kind of soft.

Push the pedal with the slave valve open, close the valve befor letting off the pedal. If you have clutch disconnect your good to go,the master will self bleed after that, you may have to add fluid. As far as the tube, thats just to keep the fluid off the drive way and work area.If every thing is tight, and no leaks , 20 times should be good to go.

I reverse bled mine by forcing fluid into the lowest part of the system via slave bleeder using a syringe.... Worth a shot if you've exhausted your options and your bored.... Worked for me on my 94

I don't know what year you have......but if you have an early C4 with a 4x3....then...the system is self bleeding. Drive it for three days or so and see how it feels.

As it heats up and cools down, any air in the Slave will eventually find it's way out and up the hose. You'll notice the system very firm at the top of the pedal in no time.

I did my MC (twice due to a faulty one from O'Reilleys) and in both situations I never bleed anything.....just started pumping it the bubbles came out by themselves. Now that thing is firm at the top

I know its claimed as a self bleeding system however I pumped like a madman with mine and my pedal had no response til I reverse bled it.
