I am running 42s on my 406, but my ECM allows me to set the size of injectors and the computer and wideband does the rest. Engine runs smooth. I was going to install a procharger, but changed my mind. I really think 36s would be plenty for my setup.
That is interesting to say the least. I wanted to run the injectors at a lower duty cycle because I was always afraid of them going static at some point in a WOT run so I went with 42pph to get the duty cycle I wanted.

When I had a 383, I ran 30# injectors and that got me into the low 11's. I changed to 36# when I went with the 406. I run a wideband and a conservative 12.5 afr and can (have gone) richer with no problems. I haven't done the math, but so far, this package works for me. I have just switched to a miniram and will be running it for the first time tomorrow. It'll require even more fuel at the top end. Hope my injectors don't blow!
I would suggest you run a wideband on the thing so you don't take a chance of blowing again.
Yes I have a wideband installed as well.....does anyone have a set of instructions for the walboro 255pump install ....do I need a kit with these wires etc.? Will it plug into factory wiring or do I need to redo the wiring? I googled it and looks like there are a few kits. Not sure exactly what I would need...and do I now need to run a different power source if I was to get the Walboro pump? Some of the pics/kits I see when I do a search on them get a little confusing haha.

Get the one from Racetronix or you can buy the Walbro separate for a few bucks less but you probably have to make several trips to the store unless you know what you wanted in the first place. Make your life easier and get it from them. They come with all the necessary hardware. I believe they have the instructions there too. Besides, didn't you see the page I posted?
I did not upgrade the wiring on my 85. Replacing the fuel pump is pretty straight forward. The Racetronix kit has everything you need and the instructions. You do need to use the wiring adapter shipped with the kit. The whole job shouldn't take more than an hour.
You can always upgrade the wiring later if you think it really needs it.

Is this the pump you got?.... I looked at the link posted earlier and after talking to them they said the one for $176 included the wiring harness which I do not need necessarily? This link is everything except the harness.

Yes. In my opinion the wiring harness is not needed. Just get the basic kit. Save your money for other things that wil come up as you install the new engine.
Have you budgeted for a new transmission and rear end? My stock transmission didn't last long after the 396 went in. If you put sticky tires on the rear end will go as well. I look at my street tires as the fusible link that protects the rear gears. A 2800 to 3000 converter should go well with the engine. It's only money.

FWIW my tuner still has my car, but it made 462hp on e85 60lb injectors and the racetronix kit with the 255 pump. It has no problem keeping up.
Keep in mind e85 needs about 30 percent more fuel then gas for the same output.
