I am having some problems with the 6 speed. Last year it started making a grinding noise whenever I power shifted 1-2 or 2-3. I thought it was the syncros which costs a pretty penny so I avoided the powershifting until I could afford the repair. I recently emailed ZFDOC to ask about getting it fixed. He said that it was probably a bad master and slave for the clutch and not the syncros. I should replace these. Acutually, they were replaced about 2 years/20,000 miles ago. Now the clutch is starting to slip under heavy acceleration. If I punch it while it is in gear it will rev up a little before it grabs(3-400RPM). This sounds to me like a bad clutch and or flywheel.
Can anyone accurately diagnose these problems?
Will replacing the clutch and or flywheel fix the situation?
I just don't want to go haphazardly replacing things until its fixed. I also don't want to pay to have the thing taken out 4 times until its fixed.
Last, can anyone recommend a shop in the NYC area that can properly diagnose me that they trust with the ZF-6?
