if that had been mentioned earlier it would have been helpful...
Thats exactly what a dead MAF does, if create outrageous backfiring and coughing and it also sets a CODE almost instantly.
A dead MAF will start out coughing horribly almost impossible to drive then when the ECM resets to OL or LHM operation it smooths out and runs normally. Sound familiar?
I didn't notice the "missing peices" because they were basically tiny strings that my blind eyes couldn't see. My fault, but it's done now. Much smoother.
The injectors are still new, and the o-rings were in new condition when I pulled each one along with the fuel rail. I replaced the o-rings anyway, which came with my intake gasket set and I still had the backfires afterwards. I didn't hear it tonight after a pull to 60, so I'll check to see if I get it tomorrow on a nice Sunday drive......
Flushed the engine today, changed the oil, changed the knock sensor, and also the mass air flow because it was missing a few...... peices. No backfires after driving for 10 minutes, and it's running much smoother. Progress has been made, but I'll see of it helps in the next few days.
