ya, mine is on its last leg and will get me through this summer working on only one speaker. i plan on having it yanked and installing a nice aftermarket system and speakers. is it just corvettes that seem to have stereos that go bad so quickly? i mean, i've owned many vehicles in my life and the corvette is the only car (i'm on my second vette) that i've had to replace the stereo system. oh well, maybe it's just me
it's because bose puts the funky amp circuit on each speaker at a $100 a pop to replace , just the amp circuit,
i finally went with after market , unless like the others say you want everything original , but believe me the original is a pain and not dependable, at all , oh well , everyone has an opinion . right? good luck :D
Having had my Bose CD gold system repaired 5 times, and replaced one burnt amp, with two rear ones blown now, and the original front one weak, I would agree with the majority and go aftermarket, unless you want to continually repair it. I have had it with mine :mad :smash:
I had mine repaired by a place in Orlando, FL. He does most of his work through the mail, but I lived close enough to take it to him. He's pretty reasonable, but he gave me a good deal because he wanted to take pictures of the removal to put on his instruction pages on his web site. Check it out here: http://carstereohelp.com
