Good evening everyone
I'm having a problem with the pulley directly above the dampner pulley on my 89 auto coupe...it seems it's getting loose and I can hear a whining sound when I start the car. I tried tighting the four bolts on the front of the pulley, but it instead turns the whole unit. can some please let me know how to get it tightened...thanks in advance
Sounds like the water pump pulley. Suspect the bearing and look for coolant seepage below the water pump.
If you still have the "frisbee" (pic on my site) attached it's very difficult. With it removed I use a large flat blade screw driver to hold the pulley while I tighten the bolts.
