I need to replace my Console Side Panels on my 1989 Corvette. I see quite a few sites that advertise a 84-87 panel and some that advertise a up to 1989 depending (seemingly) on color. Is this the only difference? I would have thought the 87 and 89 to be identical.
A little of both, when the shop pulled the carpet off the old ones, they basically fell apart. They could plastic weld the pieces back together but I'd rather locate some new ones.
I also switched from beige carpet to black and would like to do the same with these pieces.
It took a little tweaking but the shop was able to use the 1987 panels. Not sure if a 1989 panel would have been any better since everything seems to need a little tweaking to work, but they're certainly sufficient.

Nice that you were able to get a solution. Those console panels are a real PITA. I had to strip mine bare of glue and dye when I changed the carpets in my 85 over the summer. I almost ripped them apart trying to get them off because I didn't see the hidden screws. I was glad for this forum, the members pointed me in the right direction.
You should post some pictures of your job once its done.
The shop should be taking lots of pics as they go through the process. I'll post as soon as I receive them. It'll be in my larger thread on the work in:
