wiper help
I replaced the arm inside and this was no help. I really don't know were to look for help on the site and thought I would see if anyone could help? Thanks everyone..
that black "end cap" on the motor is actually a bunch of solid state circuitry and some mechanical parts that work together to give you the intermittent or delay function between low and high. Stolen from back-engineered alien technology, it was stored somewhere in a secret research facility in a lake in Nevada until the early 80s when a Gov whistle blower decided the secret was far to big to be kept from the public and a few pentagon officials agreed.
Together they decided that the public deserved to know about intermittent wipers. That is what Joe Biden was referring to when he leaned over to the president and said "...this is a big F'n deal, Sir".This was after all, advanced technology that would have taken our best and brightest scientist decades to develope on their own.

Had it not been for Roswell, we would still be listening to the wipers screech on HI during the slightest sprinkle of rainfall... not a pleasent thought.

FWIW,
The black end cap is a pretty fragile little part. You can try to take it apart and see if there is an obvious fault, loose contact, stuck lever, but its sometimes going to fall apart or parts will fall out when you open it up. If you;re lucky, the plug on the end is loose or dirty and can be cleaned and that will solve the problem. If you end up needing the black cap,. search FleaBay...they are there but they get good $$ for the part...You don;t see these everyday.
Not that many alien spacecraft crash around here anymore...

The switch in the door is just a switch. Little or nothing to do with intermittent. You can buy motors all day long...new, minus the end cap. Got to wait for a crash to get that.

This is why they would not let me tell the kids bedtime stories.....

If it's a problem with the actual circuitry, chances are that your washer doesn't work either. (I don't have intermittent or washer, but I don't care, cuz it's never driven in the rain.)
I have a 1990 Corvette. I have the same freakin problem. Wipers work on Low and High but nothing on intermittent settings. I've replaced the wiper motor with a NEW one. I replaced the Circuit board New as well. Nothing. I just replace the wiper set up on the steering column with a used set up and again, NOTHING. My last resort is to buy a brand new wiper switch set up for the steering column. I don't drive my vette in the rain either but I want everything to work as it is supposed to. If anyone can think of anythink else I might try PLEASE let me know. Thanks to everyone. Have a Great Day!!!
