I'm replacing shocks on a c-4. I have replaced shocks on many cars but never a vette. Seems to me that rear shocks have to be replace in a certain way or you could mess up rear suspension. Is that true and does any body know how? I'm replacing old shocks with new bilsteins. I believe they are pretty much oem.
The reason I ask is because I was told for rear shocks. When car is jacked up and on stands with wheels off. the rear suspension should be set just like when car is sitting on ground with wheels on when you install rear shocks. Does that make sense?

See picture #3.
Place the car on jack stands, and then use a floor jack.
You just want to lift up a little to take the pressure off.
That way, the bolts will come right out easy.
Leave the floor jack in place until you get the new shock bolted on.
Then you can release the floor jack and move to the other side and do the same.
