Hello,
I'm a newbie to this. I need some help. I just had my ECT sensor changed on a 1993 c4. While the mechanic was bleeding the coolant, he notice the coolant fluid had few small boubles in the coolant tank. He stated this is a sign of the head gaskets going bad. Is this true?
Bubbles in the coolant is a indicator of a blown head gasket but if he was bleeding the system after a coolant change it could just be air coming out.
Engines with blown head gaskets tend to run hot and use up coolant
Either have a shop perform a "block test" or get a kit and do it yourself. This test determines if there are combustion gasses in the coolant. If the test is positive, you have a blown head gasket.
