Resistance testing
Hi still working on my 1984 Crossfire. So I lost my spark and did not have fuel. So I removed the ICM and had it checked at two different stores. Both different machines say the ICM is good. I ordered one any way. So I decided to test the pick up coil. I have an Actron CP7672 multimeter. The coil test says one lead to the distributor and one on the pick up coil wire should read infinity. What is infinity on this meter. And both leads on the pick up coil wires should give me nnnnnnn. Again what does this look like on my meter. Thank you all.

Set your meter for 2K ohms. The reading it shows is infinity, as in no continuity, since the probes are not touching each other or completing a circuit.
My 86 FSM says that there should be a steady reading between 500 and 1500 ohms, when testing both leads of the pickup coil.
