Probably smoke coming from an oil leak behind the manifold. If the engine is still running, the smoke is not coming from inside the cap, it is sealed pretty well.

Yep, once the magic smoke gets out you can't put it back in...

Hopefully it's just a small oil or coolant leak.

Does the smoke have a odor?
Fuel, oil, electrical or steam?

if it kinda smells like fuel, then you kinda need to stop driving/running the engine , untill you find out for sure. The burnt up Vette pics that pass thru here..well, find out ifs its fuel ..dangerous. good luck.

What the problem can be ?
Means a new Pope has been elected. I suspect your car has magical powers and is now a blessed relic. You may be required to have it shipped to Rome immediatly to be displayed at the Sistine Chapel. Or the Corvette Musuem, same difference.

Screwdriver will get the cap off look down the sides of the cap
Once off youll be able to smell if something was really fried. If all looks ok Id guess you got yourself an oil leak dripping off one of the cats maybe thats what youre seeing.
