Re: LT1 Intake on L98 Engine In Progress... sorta (LT5FIRE)
The miniram is a nicely finished manifold, but the miniram does suffer from the front 2 cylinders having insufficient air flow. The sharp bend is too tight for an air charge to completely enter the intake port. Under foprced induction the miniram is known to leak. Also, I can't see the reason why it cost almost 1300 for a piece if lightly machined aluminum casting and a set of fuel rails. (These are my conclusions taken via speaking with miniram owners and the owners of LT1/4 manifoldmodifiers, including myself.) You can get a LT1 intake for ~150 and a set of fuel rails for ~100. A little machine work and engineering later you have a awesome set up.
Although, time is money and that speaks volumes, so the choice is yours.
Cheers,
Robert
