locking gas cap

Any ideas how to get a locking gas cap off of my 89. Don't want to mark up anything. Giving it the finger didn't do it.

LoL a double barrel ! ! Will do the trick. $$smith. Or you can drill out the lock.
No more then 3/4 deep. Then turn with a screw driver

A lot of times if you get a pliers and put a lot of downward pressure, it will stop the inner mechanism from spinning as you turn it slowly... That is worth a shot before you spend the $$$ on a locksmith...

You can pry the top off then with a pair of pliers grab what is left and turn it til its out.

Thanks guys for the responses. Took Ch@Os's way and tore the thing apart. It came right off. Some security huh?

Tried to respond earlier but guess I was banned for a day. Go figure. Don't have time for this. Later!

After storage my lock stopped working.

popped the top off and managed to get it off with a set of channel locks.
