Agreed....the graph isn't even consistent.

My old car with a tune, headers, and the hot cam put down 350 to the wheels.

when I bought my 96, I thought it ran really well; further investigation revealed three wiped cam lobes. start there.

Something wrong for sure. The Ghost as a LT4 (350 CID) Dynoed at 303 RWHP on a main line dyno.

Duly noted - thanks.

More background:
I only put Chevron '91 in it. I've been commuting to work again for a month now, so there's no older left gas in the system.
Fuel pump is only a couple of years old, ditto plugs and leads.
I recently spray-cleaned the throttle body, seemed to be working fine.
Opti and wp were new on the car when I got it 6 yrs ago, at 81k. I have a new GMPP pump sitting there ready to go, I will order an opti, fuel filter and put them all on (my hunch is I've had opti problems for while now).
I'll see about a different dyno tune then, and post. I did not get any a/f info at this place, it was purely a cheapo dyno day.

I wanted the FIC injectors anyway, I will do that next.

I wanted a hotcam anyway, I will do that and springs next.

I will then either have a big smile on my face or will have the car in the For Sale section

My l98 dyno'd 220 on a Mustang dyno in Phoenix, if that would have been a dynojet would have been a minimum of 240/250

My opinion Is to seriously try to disregard those numbers. Dynos can wreak havoc on the mind and the wallet. I'd go to the strip and pull off an easy pass. Don't launch it hard to minimize breaking anything and just see what the mph is. It will tell you a lot more than a dyno. If you see any other stock cars see what their mph is like and compare it to magazine/online results that you find.

Locally I'd hope to see 103-107 mph from a stock lt4 if I had one.

Mine dynoed at 328.xx rwhp last summer with only muffler eliminators done to it at the moment...
I did 12.93 at 110.30mph at the strip with a .270 reaction time!

Pssst! Youre reaction time has no effect on your ET's!

However, those are sizzling numbers for a basically stock C4. Nicely done!

Toe tap seriously? I said locally. At my track. With our track equipment. At our altitude. There's a LOT of variables like temperature and humidity and how much those elims give you. If you want a prize you can have one those are good mph. Your car seems to be in great running shape.

However it doesn't help the op at all. Boasting about your numbers isn't helping him figure out if there's something wrong with his car. If you want to help how about you go and dyno your car back to back with his. I wouldn't be surprised if you hit 20 hp more on THAT dyno and that his car still traps well.

Op take it to the track. Reaction time means nothing. Mine is usually in the 7 second range. Just check your mph.

Asking people what their car runs in a quarter mile and what mods were done is like asking how big their di-- is.....all are basically stock of course....

take it to the track & see what mph it posts...very telling of hp levels in real terms

Mine, stock, dyno'd at 311hp at 80K miles. The next car on the rollers that morning was a buddy's 2004 LS1 C5 with about 12K miles on it; it dyno'd at 315hp.

I'd say if there was not noticeable misfiring during your run, then you have a compression issue or someone really did replace the LT4 with an LT1 at some point. Have you looked at the rockers?

That would be a pretty weak LT1.

Do some runs to get your MPH.

I disagree with whomever said trap speed should be 103-107. My stock LT1 with ONLY muffler eliminators and x pipe traps at 105 pretty consistently. Go ahead call BS on this, you call all you want. Doesn't change the fact it is the truth.

LT4 should be a few MPH quicker depending on car/track conditions. List your DA at the track you go to.

The local track to me at best is around 1400 or so in the spring or fall. At least when I have been there.

Thanks, man. I am replacing WP and opti probably next weekend once I can decide which bloody opti to get! Can't wait to see inside my current one.

And no, guys it's not a bloody LT1 - I'm not that daft
