The day before I left for vacation I drove my 88' to work. When I started the car after work, the engine turned over fine but wouldn't start. Had to put my foot about 1/2 way down on the gas to get it started. It seemed to run fine on the drive home, but the "Service Engine Soon" light stayed on.
Car sat for the week and when I got back Sat. it did the same thing.
Anyone experience this?
I already had an appt. scheduled with the Chevy dealer for routine maint. this week.
Just checking to see if anyone has experienced anything similar to this.
Sounds like the injectors are going bad. Does it start right up when its cold but cranks forever when its been warmed up? When it finally fires, is there a cloud?
The day it started with the Service Eng. Soon light on, it started hard when it was cold. It seemed to run fine on the way home. I backed it into the garage and turned it off. I tried starting it up again and I still had to put my foot on the gas to get it started.
Didn't notice any smoke.
thanks,
