leesvet has some good info, even if his bed side manner sucks. I violently agree with his advice to start by checking fuel pressure with a gauge. I also agree, a Factory Service Manual is the ultimate performance accessory when your car isn't running right. Troubleshooting fuel pressure problems with a gauge and multimeter is simple and straight forward if you have a manual that explains the theory of operation and shows the pin out of the diagnostic connector, location of the fuel pump relay, etc. I know $75 seems like a lot of money to part with for a couple of books with somebody else's thumb prints in it, but even if the parts were free, your time is worth something and you can get mighty dizzy and frustrated chasing your tail. Without the correct information, it can be hard to figure out if you are chasing an electrical vs a mechanical problem

Also, you have to be clear when describing the symptoms. "It won't turn over" is one of the most misused terms in the game. To a lot of folks, if the starter can spin the engine fast enough that normally it would start, then it is, in fact "turning over". (my first wife could never get her head around that concept.) From your description, my interpretation was that the engine will crank, or "turn over" but won't fire off and run on its own.

It is sunny and cool this morning and my Vette hasn't been out of the garage in over a week. I am going to take off the Targa and burn off some of that 93 octane before the sun gets too high. Good luck with it.

OK, one more thought: Lots of folks swear by "noid Lights". You can put a finger on an injector and feel (and usually hear) it "click" if it is being triggered by the ECM. Wire insulation and connector bodies on the older cars has a reputation for being brittle, so the less you handle and disturb wiring, the better.

Good luck...you;ll be glad you did all this...someday soon.
You can get the digital version on CD in .PDF for under $30 on Ebay. It's worth it, tons of information and troubleshooting flowcharts.
