So I am building my engine now. And I was planning on big sbc but I cant seem to find any quality 400s in the area so im just gonna do a 383. (I know saying just sounds dumb lol).
I still plan on efi single plane with an elbow and 90mm tb.
Only problem is what do I have to go about to tune the 85 computer. I plan on big cam as well. Is there a certain tuner anyone would recommend for the 85 or idk. Im really wanting to stay fuel injected.
(Im still just piecing everything together so I can build it at once)
If you are going that radical, I don't think you will be happy unless you have full control of your system using a Fast, Accel or other engine management system.

You can tune the 1985 computer or switch to a 1986 computer and get it working well. Either one will work but you will have more support and data logging ability with the 1986 computer. A 1986 computer with a Blower Works (3" 3-1/2, or 4") MAF allows you the ability measure air flow past 1000 grams per second so you can tune almost any combination.
I have tuned a wild 434 running a 4" maf from blowerworks and it drives very well.

Be aware that EZ does not control spark. you would need a diff distributor or run spark off stock ECU and fuel only off EZ.
dynamicefi... check it out.... uses your stock ECU with a port fuel mod
EZ EFI leaves a lot to be desired, no spark control and very basic fuel control, adjusting cold start and accelerator enrichment is very crude. It works for mild tunes but I believe it is too basic for wild tunes.
