I own a 1984 Vette with 37,000 miles. It recently lost all electrical power. I have no interior lights, radio, headlights etc. and the car will not start. The battery has a full charge and the cables are solid. Any ideas of where to start looking? Thanks!!!
You have nothing to lose by doing this.....remove both battery cables and clean them with a wire brush and perhaps some spray on electrical contact cleaner. Next be sure that the battery where the cables connect are also clean.
battery cables are known to rot inside the sleeve and degrade to the point of there being no conductivity. Test for full amperage at the far end (starter) then go to the jumper post and clean all those power source connections. Fusable links might be looked at too.
