Default Clutch Recommendation - Track Use

So I picked up a complete black tag ZF swap as well as a complete LT1 swap (harness, etc) from a Camaro. The car its going into is an '84 vette and is used for lemons racing only. We have a good condition dual mass flywheel and I was wondering on a clutch recommendation. Like I said, the car will only see track use and the LT1 is stock (might put a hot cam in it down the road). I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for a clutch setup.

Would the DM survive repeated track use? If so, which clutch would be decent? I don't want to spend a trillion dollars but I don't want something that's gonna get smoked on the first race.
If the DM wouldn't survive, anyone have suggestions on a conversion kit to a regular style FW setup?

Thanks!

I've had good luck with the dual friction Center Force.

I think the repeated pounding of on/off throttle and on/off clutch actuation will wear out the dual mass pretty quickly, but that's a guess as I've never road raced with a dual mass.

If you go with the Center Force, they sell a solid flywheel to replace the dual mass, but it's kind of expensive. I think I paid about $1100 for the dual friction disk, pressure plate, and flywheel.

Regardless of which clutch you use, the hydraulic systems are a pain to get working properly. Good luck with it!

For stock hp or with the HOT Cam, the OEM parts, including the clutch disc, will work just fine. When the dual mass finally goes it'll just have an annoying rattle and perhaps a little slippage but will still work....you won't have to drop out of a race because of it.

In order to get the engine to rev more easily however, I'd look for a SPEC single mass aluminum flywheel and a Stage 2 clutch disk. Since it's a race car, solid vs sprung hub won't matter. Go with whatever is cheaper.

FWIW, I ran a dual mass for years (HPDE, Track Days, and TT) with a lot more hp and torque on technical tracks and never had an issue.
